Dickinson and Song: A Preview Concert and Conversation
Monday, April 4, 2016 from 7PM-8:30PM at the Amherst Woman's Club

Emily Dickinson's startling poetic voice has long inspired musicians and composers. On Monday, April 4 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, enjoy “Dickinson and Song” – a preview concert and conversation with Novi Cantori, a professional chamber choir which performs throughout the Pioneer Valley.

This special preview evening, co-sponsored by the Emily Dickinson Museum and the Amherst Woman's Club, features a short talk by Novi Cantori director Ellen Gilson Voth about the different approaches composers use in setting Dickinson's poetry to music, and her influence on composers here and abroad. Novi Cantori will also perform a few pieces from their upcoming program, "Voices of New England," which they will present in full on Saturday, April 9, at 7:30 pm at Amherst's Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The evening's short program is followed by refreshments and conversation in the historic Hills mansion, home to the Amherst Woman's Club, at 35 Triangle Street. Tickets are $10, $8 for members of the Museum. Reserve your tickets here. Some tickets will be available at the door.
