The Homestead and The Evergreens are well over 150 years old.  While the aging houses are generally sound, the traffic of guided tours is introducing new stresses and strains.  Completion of several small preservation projects will improve the condition of the houses to welcome many more visitors in the years ahead.

• Repair masonry and repoint selected areas of foundation walls in Homestead and Evergreens cellars.
• Replace wood decking and lattice on Evergreens piazzas (porches).
• Re-paint The Evergreens in its 1880s colors to complement the Homestead's recently restored exterior.
