From March through December, the Emily Dickinson Museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays. The Museum is not open on Mondays, Tuesdays, major holidays, or on any day in January and February. For a detailed schedule, click here.
Visits to the Emily Dickinson Museum begin at the Tour Center, located in the Homestead. Information and admission tickets, the Museum Shop, exhibits, and a restroom are available inside the Tour Center. To explore the Homestead and The Evergreens beyond the Tour Center, you will be accompanied by a guide. Tours are offered throughout the day. For the comfort of our visitors and the safety of our collections, tour size is limited. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Both the Homestead and the Evergreens are air conditioned in the summer.
The Tour Center and first floors of the Homestead and The Evergreens are handicapped accessible. Because of the historic nature of the two Dickinson houses, neither house includes an elevator to the second floor. Visitors who are unable to use stairs are provided with illustrated notebooks that describe the exhibits upstairs in each house, and guides and other staff are happy to answer questions about the content of those notebooks. For further questions about accessibility, please contact the museum at csdickinson@emilydickinsonmuseum.org or call 413-542-8429.
