"The Poet in Her Bedroom"
"The Poet in Her Bedroom": A Special Film Screening and Discussion
Time: 11 am
Location: At Amherst Cinema, 28 Amity Street, Amherst
Fee: $3 (free to members of Amherst Cinema)
On December 12 the Museum and Amherst Cinema will host a special screening of the film "The Poet in Her Bedroom" (2008) at the Cinema, located at 28 Amity St., in Amherst. As an introduction to the film, Jane Wald, the Museum’s executive director, will share the remarkable story of the parlor ceiling collapse. Wald notes, "Since the poet’s bedroom is currently off view, the film showing is an ideal way to honor Emily Dickinson and the space we most associate with her." Filmmaker Ernest Urvater will also be on hand to discuss his work.
After attending the screening, the audience is encouraged to visit the Emily Dickinson Museum for its annual Open House in Honor of Emily Dickinson's Birthday.
