'I dealt a word of Gold' Writing at the Emily Dickinson Museum

A program for Junior Girl Scouts: Scribe Badge

Saturdays 9:30-11:30AM, October 15 or NoVember 5

Join us for a morning of word-fun and discovery at the Emily Dickinson Museum! Earn the Junior Scribe badge while learning about the trailblazing poet, Emily Dickinson, and her writing life. During this behind-the-scenes museum experience, scouts will visit rooms inside Dickinson's 1813 home and explore the rich surroundings of her landscape. Girls will: Harness their inner poet, utilize the power of language to express opinions, and explore sense of self through writing. Other activities include crafting a fascicle – the bound journal preferred by Dickinson herself - to record thoughts throughout the day, reading letters sent hundreds of years ago, and stepping into Dickinson’s shoes by writing at a replica of her very own desk!
