Childhood Creativity

The nursery’s decoration reflects the late Victorian sentiment of childhood as a cherished time of life. Susan and Austin Dickinson strongly encouraged their childrens’ creativity, even going so far as to allow them to paste pictures from books and magazines on the doors of the nursery and adjacent hall door. The collection here is the combined efforts of Ned, Mattie, and Gib over the years each spent in the nursery.
