Emily Dickinson was a master of inquiry-based process, sometimes beginning a poem with a question – “I’m nobody! Who are you?” – and sometimes framing an entire poem as one ongoing query. Poetry invites learners of all ages to consider the world around us and our place in it, and can be especially powerful when working with young people as they explore their own identities and discover their individual voices.

With its distinctive mission, intriguing collections, and historical, interpretive, and pedagogical expertise, the Emily Dickinson Museum creates and offers compelling, inquiry-based teaching and learning programs for K-12 and College students and educators, and lifelong learners.

The Museum has recently launched a suite of highly immersive, 90-minute onsite programs for K-12 regional schools: The Power of Poetry and This was a Poet.
