The Emily Dickinson Museum is owned by the Trustees of Amherst College, is overseen by an independent board of governors, and is responsible for raising its own funds for programs, operations, and capital projects. Gifts to the Emily Dickinson Fund cover 36% of our operating expenses each year. We are grateful for every donation made in support of the Museum. Gifts of $100 – $5000 directly impact our ability to keep our programs free or low-cost for the thousands of people who engage with the Museum in person or online every year.

Sustaining Gift: A recurring gift makes your gift to the Museum easy and convenient. Credit cards can be charged monthly, quarterly or annually. Signing up is as easy as checking the recurring giving box on our donation form. We can also help you set this up by calling or emailing our office.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF): Please contact your DAF administrator to recommend a grant to support the Emily Dickinson Museum. Checks should be mailed to the address above. If needed, checks can be made out to the Trustees of Amherst College and designated to the Emily Dickinson Museum. Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA: If you are 70 1/2 or older, you may make tax-free gifts to the Emily Dickinson Museum directly from your IRA. Contact your IRA administrator and ask them to send a check made payable to the Museum to the address above.
