Overseen by its own Board of Governors, the Emily Dickinson Museum earns and raises nearly all of the funds it needs for core programming, operations, and capital projects. It is owned by the Trustees of Amherst College and operates under the College’s federal tax identification number. Because of this, the Emily Dickinson Museum’s gift planning program is offered through Amherst College, which provides sophisticated investment management and high-quality gift administration.Joining the 1830 Society is as easy as letting us know that you have or would like to include the Museum in your estate plans.
